After the past weekend and how the Holy Spirit moved upon the choir, I felt inclined to share some thoughts with all of you.
As I was involved in both services I felt and saw the Spirit move in such a way that was indescribable. The peace and happiness particularly felt during 2nd service was astonishing. I often sit during church service and wish it could be like this all time. Meaning that safe feeling you get when you enter God’s Holy Temple. But alas, I realize we, as the body of Christ, are called to go out and preach the Good News to this very evil & confused world. I have been on this Christian walk now for 17 yrs and I wouldn’t trade anything for the ride. The choir talked about becoming complacent in our lives and in the choir. God has given me an example for us to apply in our everyday lives.
Do you remember those pictures of yourself with those wacky hairstyles and clothes? You look at those photos and say, “Thank God I’ve improved myself and left that look behind!” It always amuses me to look at old photos of myself. I can consistently see where I have changed and improved my style/appearance. Wouldn’t it be great if we could do the same thing with our spiritual walk with God? It would be wonderful if we could take a “snapshot” of our spiritual walk 5 yrs ago and compare it with our walk today. Could we see a positive difference? Or would we be disappointed to discover that we have been walking around in circles in our spiritual walk?
To avoid becoming complacent in your spiritual walk requires that you keep moving forward. Ever seeking new knowledge and experiences. Branching out in new ministries that go beyond your comfort level. It is when you submit to God and get out of your comfort zone that He can truly use you.
God, let me move beyond inspiration and emotional highs to running with my testimony and Your Word to the streets. Let me run for You God, because time is running out in this life.
Sister in Christ,
