Don't You Know You Are Free?

I serve under the leadership of Bishop Benjamin, at Light of the World Christian Church as the minister of Christian Education and Programs. I was introduced to Jesus Christ at a very young age (7) and I can remember how I had such an excitement about the things of God such as attending church, praying, singing in the choir, participating in bible study and doing outreach ministries in the community.
Even though I was introduced to Jesus at a very young age it was not until I was 16 that I truly understood what Jesus really meant and what He had done for me. Jesus had died on the cross for my sins and that my belief and confession would allow me to go to heaven (have eternal life) and that I could live a life in joy, peace and love. This has changed my life because now I understand and trust that when I am faced with problems my relationship with Jesus Christ helps make it possible for me to go through those problems and as a result I have found my faith to grow stronger and my relationship with Him is closer.
I must say there is one message that was preached by Bishop Benjamin that made my witnessing more effective, that is "Don't you know you are Free" who the Son (Jesus Christ) sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Some times as Christians we can beat up on ourselves and I have been there, trying to live perfect and as a result we won't witness because we keep messing up and we think to ourselves who am I to tell others about Jesus Christ. But it was that message that loose me from bondage and reminded me that Jesus paid it all and I did not have to force myself to live perfect but to let go and enjoy my relationship with Christ and through my obedience He will help me to please Him.
As difficult as we make it, it is really that simply, "Just Let go and Let God," because Jesus has made it possible for you to be "FREE." To sum up my testimony "Jesus Christ has made me free" and He wants to do the same for you.
