The Best Is Yet To Come

By Rev. Billy Hall

Father’s Day June 15, 1980, was the greatest day of my life. While attending the Sunday Worship Service at Second Christian Church under the Pastorate of Dr. T. Garrott Benjamin, Jr., I was convicted and moved by powerful preaching of the Word of God by Dr. Benjamin that the Holy Spirit moved me forward at the Invitation to Discipleship to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. What a day, what a joy divine.

After three years of dedicated service to the Lord and the Second Christian Church ministry, I felt the call of God upon my life to become a servant and minister of Jesus Christ. Upon answering the call to ministry and under the guidance and encouragement of Bishop Benjamin, I returned to college and completed my undergraduate degree and was soon accepted into the Masters of Divinity Program at Christian Theological Seminary. Upon completing the program in June 1995, I was the fourteenth graduate to be ordained into the Christian Ministry by Bishop Benjamin as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

God is truly to be glorified in my life for what the Lord has allowed me to accomplish in rendering my service in ministry and being a yoked servant of the Lord. I have been blessed and empowered to serve in the capacity as a Staff Minister of Visitation and Outreach, an ordained Elder and a Christian Education Bible Teacher under the dynamic leadership of Bishop Benjamin and LWCC. I can truly say the joy of the Lord is my strength when I am able to visit , pray for, anoint, and encourage the sick and infirmed in representing the Lord Jesus Christ and Bishop T. Garrott Benjamin.

In fulfilling the mission of the Outreach Program of LWCC, it is certainly on honor to be blessed to be a blessing to the least, the last, and the lost. In my ministry I am able to witness and testify the Good News of the Kingdom of God to many persons and as a result of forming relationships, numerous persons have been saved and their lives transformed.

I thank and praise the Lord for God's saving grace, compassion and mercy and for the privilege and opportunity to be a servant and witness for Jesus Christ and to truly believe as our Bishop has said on many occasions, " the best is yet to come." God is good! And I feel no ways tired. Praise the Lord, praise ye the Lord!
