The journey is not over...
Pastor, Pastor, Pastor,
What a ride I have been on.
Today is the first day that I have had any energy to sit and respond to all of the well wishes of friends and family. The journey is not over...
On Nov. 6, Dr. Parr my orthopedic surgeon attempted to do a left hip replacement. When he was in surgery, he had suspicions of an infection even though I had gone through all the necessary tests and procedures in advance as all hip replacement patients do. Instead he did complete the bone graft and removed the hip on my left side. I really cannot walk now and rely solely on my walker (hopping) and my wheelchair. While in the hospital, I had to have two blood transfusions and had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. I was finally released on Sun Nov 12.
This past Fri, Nov 17, the doctor removed the 27 staples over my hip areas and all is looking very good. My rescheduled surgery is Mon., Dec. 19, my birthday at 7:30 a.m. So now I start the process all over again.
Know I am encouraged, the horrible pain I had been experiencing is now gone, as well as my hip. My doctor is a praying man as he prayed with my entourage when we went to surgery the first time. He also came to me everyday of my hospitalization, etc. My mother likes him so I know he must be doing something right.
Feel free to share this information with the congregation, ministers, and officers.
Be encouraged, I am, and remember, The best is yet to come!!!
Always giving God the glory,
Min Yowanda J. Bowens
